This small but perfectly formed kitchen and dining addition achieves the seemingly impossible task of creating a warm and sun-filled addition to the south of an existing 1920’s bungalow.

The creation of the dining room as a compact pavilion separated from the existing house by the kitchen ‘link-way’ allowed the introduction of high-level glazing which brings northerly sun into this space which would otherwise have been shaded for much of the time.

The addition is contemporary in form but utilises the same weatherboard cladding and timber flooring as the original house providing a visual connection between the old and the new both inside and out

The inclusion of bifold and sliding doors provides an easy flow out onto the new generous west facing deck from the kitchen and dining room allowing for casual summer entertaining
