The need to replace their existing aging buildings, while looking to accommodate an increasing congregation size, has led to the development of a staged building proposal for the Mangapapa Church in Gisborne. The building form is conceived as two sweeping mono-pitched wings rising elegantly from a central poured concrete core incorporating a back-lit cruciform motif.
To be completed over three stages, the end result will be an iconic building that meets a wide range of needs and uses in a flexible and welcoming way.
